About
Joshua Dunn is a photographer based in the Washington D.C. area. He is a husband, a father and a veteran who is recent graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design’s Master of Fine Arts in Photography program. Originally trained as a large format film photographer he has been photographing for over twenty years. While still occasionally photographing in large format, he primarily creates multiple-row, high dynamic range panoramas in digital format.
A significant portion of his work revolves around architecture and its importance to society. In his photographs Joshua tries to communicate a sense of space and scale respective to the building he is in. Rather than believing that these grandiose structures are permanent monuments to their respective civilizations he views them as perishable. They should be appreciated in the moment for their importance to society as opposed to being mourned once they are lost.
